BLUE HOUR by Alain Roche

10.04.2025
BLUE HOUR is an acoustic solo piano concert performed at daybreak and illuminated only by sunrise. A continual alternating process where pianist and composer Alain Roche invites the audience to pause and embrace the moment.
The key element of this experience is a continuous piano composition entitled SUMMER SOLSTICE.

The piece gradually emerges from WINTER SOLSTICE – a composition written in 2022 on an island beyond the Arctic Circle in Norway. This musical score is the highlight of a profound exploration of the ever-changing seasons and can be experienced on 182 successive sunrises in the great outdoors.

Alain Roche’s BLUE HOUR is a completely stripped-back performance without any artificial staging that takes place in the light of daybreak.
